All investments carry risk. This page outlines the main risks associated with products distributed by Patni Investmart. It is not exhaustive; please read the offer documents of each product.
1. Market risk
Equity and equity-oriented schemes can fall in value due to changes in share prices. Losses can be significant, particularly over short periods.
2. Interest-rate risk
The value of debt securities falls when interest rates rise. Schemes with longer duration are more sensitive to rate changes.
3. Credit risk
Issuers of bonds, debentures and corporate deposits may delay or default on interest or principal payments.
4. Liquidity risk
Some securities may be hard to sell quickly without a price impact. ELSS and some other products also have lock-in periods.
5. Concentration risk
Sectoral, thematic and PMS portfolios may hold a small number of stocks or sectors, increasing volatility.
6. Currency and country risk
International funds and NRI investments are affected by exchange-rate movements and the regulations of other countries.
7. Derivatives risk
Trading in futures and options involves leverage and can lead to losses exceeding the initial margin. SEBI studies show that a large majority of individual traders in equity F&O incur losses.
8. Insurance risk
Insurance claims are subject to policy terms, exclusions, waiting periods and disclosures at the time of proposal. Non-disclosure can lead to claim rejection.
9. Riskometer
Each mutual fund scheme carries a riskometer ranging from Low to Very High, updated monthly. Please check it before investing and after, as it can change.
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully.
